Dr. Assadi earned her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran in 1968. She completed her internship in internal medicine at North General Hospital and her residency in internal medicine at Metropolitan Hospital Center. She also completed her fellowship in cardiology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, followed by an additional fellowship in cardiology at St Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center.
Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology.
