I am a 40 year old mom of 2--Charlie and Aidan. I have a wonderful husband who works very hard to provide for us. I work part time as a baking coach going to school libraries and teaching classes on yummy treats that children can make.

Sometimes I wonder if all parents love their children as much as I love mine. I suppose so but I just get overwhelmed with love for this kid. He brings me joy and daily miracles and it’s my job to be mindful enough to take note.

Here’s why else I love this little boy to the moon and back.

  1. He makes me laugh. He’s so goofy and funny. What could be sweeter than my son belting out in his best karaoke voice: When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath… you look perfect tonight.

Thank you to Ed Sheeran and my son Aidan.

He’s talented. The creative side of his brain is in overdrive. He loves music, drawing, painting, and crafts. I can barely draw a stick figure and this little boy draws dinosaurs running over a mountain.

  1. He loves bubble bath time. His favorite toys are Crayola Bathtub Body Doodlers and Paw Patrol Bath Squirters. And he really loves mommy’s bath bombs. My husband got them for me from Lush at $10 a pop! But the money is nothing when I see his face light up from the colors and the scent.
  2. He loves Go-Gurt, mac and cheese, pancakes, cupcakes and lasagna (I sneak a little bit of veggies in there…guilty as charged.)
  3. He remembers everything. You know when you say “sweetie, let’s go now and mommy will play trucks with you when we get home?” Trust me when I say I will be playing trucks when we get home. There’s no ‘mommy bribes’ for this kid.
  4. He loves to give hugs and I’m blessed that he likes to receive them too. There is nothing in the world more rewarding than after bath hugs while winding down.
  5. He loves the pool. From the day we got a little blow up kiddie pool to the YMCA pool in our town – He’s a cute little fish.
  6. He loves weighted blankets and bring brushed. It comforts him like nothing else and he reminds me of a content kitty purring peacefully.

I am truly grateful for being chosen as the mother of this loving, caring, stubborn, funny, busy little boy. He is the light of my life and I couldn’t imagine him any other way.
