Breast Cancer - Inflammatory

Being in my 60s my husband and I decided that we want to spend time traveling so we booked a 3 week holiday to Hawaii and after receiving my letter to have my regular 2 yearly mammogram I decided to go and have it 2 days prior to leaving. As I had NO symptoms, I thought just get it over and done with and enjoy our holiday. Upon arrival after 3 wonderful relaxing weeks I found a letter from the Breast Clinic advising me that they found something that needed further investigation and an appointment was already made for me, so off I went thinking I don't have any lumps so everything should be fine, that's right NO LUMP. After having another Mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy I waited for 5 days to receive the news that I had breast cancer in my milk ducts...NO LUMP so without that 2 yearly Mammogram I would never have known. 2 weeks later I had a double Mastectomy with a couple of Lymph Nodes removed along with a reconstruction. So if my story doesn't tell you that mammogram is so very important well I don't know what is. I now have a full life to be lived with my husband, Son, daughter and grandkids thanks to that uncomfortable but tolerable mammogram.
