What symptoms led up to your diagnosis?

I had no symptoms. I had no signs. I examined my breasts regularly but my cancer was deep in my breast and I could not feel it.

What tests did your doctor do, and what was this experience like?

I had a mammogram every year. In 2016 it showed I had two lumps and a cyst in my left breast. I had a biopsy and during this procedure, the cyst was popped and was clear. The biopsy was not uncomfortable and I already knew it was cancer. My mother and my grandmother both had breast cancer so I wasn't terribly surprised, just upset.

Upon learning about your diagnosis- what happened next?

Three weeks later I began a course of chemotherapy that went on for 5 months, then I had a reduction to both breasts to remove the cancer and so that I would be symmetrical. This was followed by 25 treatments of radiotherapy after which I received the all clear, so we shall see!
