What symptoms led up to your diagnosis?

I was sitting, watching TV and then I rubbed the very top of my breast and discovered a hard lump on my RH side.

What tests did your doctor do, and what was this experience like?

I was fast tracked by my GP and at the Breast Care Unit I had a mammogram, followed by an ultrasound and a biopsy on the same day. Nothing showed on the mammogram, but something showed on the ultrasound and the biopsy said I had it in my lymph nodes too.

Upon learning about your diagnosis- what happened next?

I was kind of misled into having a lumpectomy, followed by chemo, radiotherapy, and Herceptin. Now I have to take Tamoxifen for 10 years. I just wished I would have had a full mastectomy and rebuilt from there, then I wouldn't have needed the radiotherapy. I am still suffering from the side effects with the Chemo and I'm just 2 years down the line :-(
