How has breast cancer affected your role as a mom?

My children were grown but have grandchildren when I discovered I had breast cancer. This was my third cancer. It was discovered during a routine mammogram. I was a little scared because my mother died of metastatic breast cancer in 1982. I was not going to go through what she went through. I had a lumpectomy and a round of radiation. I do not have BRAC1 or 2 so my daughter and granddaughters don't need to be tested for that. It's been 4 years since the radiation with no recurrence. All I can say is have your mammogram when indicated. I couldn't feel the lump even after I knew where it was. I trust in God for healing through Jesus Christ but I also go to doctors. God prompted me to have my mammogram on time and my breast cancer was rather easy to deal with. The doctors say I'm cured of the other 2 cancers but I know I'm healed of all three in Jesus' name. To God be the glory!
