Jill Mason Fibromyalgia

I am a 57 year old disabled woman, who was diagnosed in 2012 with Fibromyagia, and osteo arthritis. Everyday is a struggle, with pain, stiffness, burning, fuzzy head, headaches etc. Life is not fun anymore. I cant do the things that I once took for granted.

Fibromyalgia has a lot of misconceptions attached to it. What do you wish people understood about fibromyalgia?

That it always sounds like the person is a hypochondriac, always moaning that they are sick. But it's true, it affects every part of our body. So, its not in our head.

Has any one told you that "you don't look sick?"

Yes, I'm often told I'm lying, sympathy seeking etc.

Tell us, who is your biggest support system while coping with fibromyalgia?

The doctor.
