What symptoms led up to your diagnosis?

I had weakness in my legs. I was living in California and I worked for Scripps Clinic. I was seen by an internist and he did blood-work. I had a history of hives and angioedema since I was a child, without ever getting a diagnosis. I was depressed also.

What tests did your doctor do, and what was this experience like?

They did a complete chemistry and my ANA was positive. I came back to Connecticut.

Upon learning about your diagnosis- what happened next?

I came back to Connecticut and started seeing my rheumatologist who I still see. I wasn't diagnosed with SLE in 1997, before that I was diagnosed Inflammatory Arthritis .
