More About Me

How has life changed since your diagnosis?

I was relieved to find out what is actually going on in my body. For now, I am just trying different ways to manage it and observing how my body reacts to certain triggers. I still am learning more and more. It can be an embarrassing condition, but I've learned to embrace talking about it and sharing with others.

What are you most passionate about?

My boyfriend, friends, and family.

What do you hope readers can learn from your health journey?

I want to teach readers about psoriasis, and that there is more to it than those depressing Humira commercials. And I hope, in reading, that someone can relate!

Diagnosis

I've had scalp psoriasis since I was 10-12 years old, but I always thought it was dandruff. Then, spots started appearing on my arms when I was in college. My dermatologist incorrectly diagnosed me with eczema and said to just keep an eye on it and moisturize. These spots multiplied, and I saw pictures of psoriasis online that confirmed my suspicions. I went to a different dermatologist and was officially diagnosed in 2013.
