tendonitis

I have a fairly narrow foot, as a runner I'm a heel striker very slightly on the outside. I weigh approximately 185lbs, and I generally walk barefoot most of the time. I also have a fairly high arch so I'm more comfortable with a small amount of extra support in the arch area. I use thin (4mm at thickest point) foam (not gel) inserts in the arches to slightly increase the arch support. Running shoes are difficult to comparatively review without a large number of miles of experience. Furthermore, as you run with ASICS gel nimbus they change, so comparing new shoes to your old shoes (500+ miles) is difficult. I'm pretty sure these shoes are very close to the older ASICS nimbus I have when they were new. I love the fact that these shoes soles last but I cannot tell you that these new ones have this property. One area of the shoe that does not wear well for my foot is the inside lining area above my heel - in the Achilles tendon area. None the less it is good enough. I always notice that older shoes seem to collapse/compress more on the outsides of my foot (leading to slight supination). These new shoes, naturally, are uncompressed on the outside, so they feel slightly tilted to the inside (slight pronation). All of this is pretty much expected - it all works. For me they are far better than the NB brand and the Nike brand at the same price point. I found this blog post very helpful for best shoes for achilles tendonitis: https://fitfootpro.com/best-running-shoes-for-achilles-tendonitis/
