Teenage Battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma Inspires Life as an Athlete

Eating well, feeling well, and living life to its fullest

While studying to get her associate’s degree in business, Bildirici also signed up for an online course at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition so that she could become a holistic health coach. In her spare time, she runs a blog - Running on Veggies - where she shares healthy recipes and practical tips with her growing number of followers. “I now actually get paid to cook, which is unbelievable to me” said Bildirici.

Her athletic career has taken off as well. Recently, she has teamed up with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to participate in a full Ironman triathlon in Louisville, Kentucky. This October, the triathlon will help raise funds for pediatric blood cancer research. Bildirici’s goal is to raise $30,000 in the process. “I’ve always wanted to share my story with my followers, but I wanted to do it in a meaningful way — not just this happened, but this happened, and here’s what you can do” she said.
