Taking her body and health back into her own hands
From that day on, something inside of her sparked a passion for running. She began to eat, think, and train like a runner. “For years, I felt like everything that happened to me was out of my control. With running, I was able to take my body and my health into my own hands” said Bildirici. She also paid great attention to maintaining a healthy diet by learning everything she could about how food affects the mind and the body. She began to learn what foods were best to eat before and after a run because she wanted to continue feeling good, both physically and mentally.
