Licensed to practice medicine in Georgia and Florida, he is affiliated with Ascension Medical Group St. Vincent’s Cardiology – Southside & Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside in Jacksonville, Florida. Both facilities are members of Ascension, the largest Catholic, mission-driven, not-for-profit health care system in the United States. 

Back in 1980, Dr. Kuhlman graduated with his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center, followed by his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in 1985. 

A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology.
