Dr. Salazar practices at multiple locations, including San Antonio: Downtown, San Antonio: Oakwell, and Jourdanton, and is committed to upholding a tradition of compassion, collaboration, and excellent patient care.
His practice utilizes the latest technologies and techniques, including premium intraocular lens implantation, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and an array of medical, laser, and surgical glaucoma treatments. His expertise also extends to the diagnosis and management of various other eye conditions, including dry eye disease, diabetic eye disease, and eye injuries.
Growing up in Monterrey, Mexico, and Laredo, Texas, Dr. Salazar earned his Undergraduate Degree from the University of Texas-Pan American in the Rio Grande Valley. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Medicine Degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he also completed his internal medicine internship.
Furthering his training, Dr. Salazar completed his ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami.
Board certified in ophthalmology, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The ABO is an independent, nonprofit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists (eye physicians and surgeons) in the United States.
Passionate about teaching the next generation of ophthalmologists, as well as staying up to date with surgical and medical advances, Dr. Salazar is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
