Get to know Neurological Surgeon Dr. George Raque, who serves patients in Kentucky. 

In practice for over three decades, Dr. Raque is a board-certified neurological surgeon at Norton Neuroscience Institute. He operates out of the offices in Elizabethtown and Louisville, Kentucky. 

Norton Neuroscience Institute’s neurologists and neurosurgeons have the expertise and tools to provide care tailored to patients’ needs. Back in 1983, Dr. Raque graduated with his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship, residency, and fellowship training at the said establishment.

Subsequent to his education, he attained board certification in neurological surgery through the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). The broad aim of the ABNS is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health.

With a patient care focus on spine surgery and general neurosurgery, Dr. Raque is a member of several professional medical associations, including the American Medical Association, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, and the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies (Kentucky representative).

Practicing medicine in Kentucky, he is affiliated with Norton Hospital, Norton Children’s Hospital, and University of Louisville Hospital.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
