Dr. Cherian, a board-certified non-invasive cardiologist, serves as Director of Non-Invasive Imaging at Heart & Vascular Institute with locations in Detroit, Dearborn, and Southfield, Michigan.

The Heart & Vascular Institute’s team of award-winning Detroit cardiologists remains dedicated to providing high-quality cardiac care throughout Michigan and the Midwest. The Michigan heart and vascular treatment centers remain strong advocates for cardiovascular health through quality patient care, ongoing education, continued research, and the consistent application of the industry’s highest standards.

Joining Heart & Vascular Institute in 2014, Dr. Cherian brings in a new perspective to the team of nationally recognized cardiologists. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, after which he went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the University of Louisville Hospital. With great passion, he continued his education with a fellowship in heart failure and cardiac transplant at the University of Utah, followed by a fellowship in general cardiology at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York.

Moving to Michigan, Dr. Cherian brings his specialty in heart failure management to the diverse city of Detroit. His enthusiasm for medicine shines day to day, working alongside physicians, as well as working with medical students and residents by guiding and teaching in the field of cardiology. Among his many achievements, the doctor is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Non-invasive cardiologists focus on the detection and treatment of heart disease, using external tests, rather than instruments inserted into the body, to evaluate and diagnose cardiac disorders.
