Get to know Obstetrician-Gynecologist Dr. Thomas C. Wisler Jr., who serves patients in Indiana.

A board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Wisler Jr. is a part of Axia Women’s Health. He is currently accepting new patients at the South location and Stone Crossing location.

After graduating from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Dr. Wisler Jr. completed his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. He finished his residency at Michigan State University/Sparrow Hospital.

For the next four years, Dr. Wisler Jr. then served as an officer and an attending physician in the United States Air Force. He then returned to Indiana to join his parents in their tradition of serving patients on the Southside of Indianapolis. 

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

In affiliation with Franciscan Health, Dr. Wisler Jr. can be found on staff at Franciscan Health Indianapolis and Community South Hospital and Community South Surgery Center.

Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).

As a testament to his drive, Dr. Wisler Jr. has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2016) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014).

Married with four children, he enjoys boating with his family.
