Dr. Daniel Wohlgelernter is a highly regarded cardiologist in Santa Monica, California and is affiliated with Providence St. John’s Health Center.

Dr. Wohlgelernter prides himself on providing high-quality, patient-focused cardiac services designed to maintain heart health. 

Earning a degree from Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, he went on to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Yale Medical Center. In his fourth year, he was named Chief Medical Resident. Yale Medical Center is the largest, oldest and most respected employer in the region. 

Dr. Wohlgelernter trained in cardiology at Yale and served on the Yale medical school faculty for two years before joining the UCLA faculty in 1985. Board- Certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, he is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Wohlgelernter offers a personalized and patient-focused concierge program that allows him to provide in-depth medical services and extra time for his patients. This program enables Dr. Wohlgelernter to support his patients with their primary heart health concerns, but also to become a trusted counselor and advisor to their overall health.  The approach is based on the concept that in order for a patient to heal, they need physical, emotional, and therapeutic support. 

His specialties include preventive cardiology, management of lipid disorders and hypertension, and noninvasive management of arrhythmias.

The recipient of numerous awards and accolades, Dr. Wohlgelernter has been honored with the Thomas L. Stern, M.D. award for excellence in teaching from Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center. He has been named a ‘Super Doctor’ of Southern California, received a Patients’ Choice Award by Healthgrades, chosen by US News and World as a ‘Top Doctor’, and named one of California’s Top Doctors from 2015 to 2019 by Los Angeles magazine. Dr. Wohlgelernter has also appeared on The Discovery Channel as a cardiology commentator and has testified in the wrongful death case involving Michael Jackson.
