Get to know Medical Aesthetics & Family Medicine Physician Dr. Anna Elperin, who serves patients in Ellensburg, Washington. Dr. Elperin is President of Awake Health, which strives to provide people with an alternative treatment option for health issues and chronic diseases. While they can help patients to get back into shape, they can also help reverse the effects of chronic diseases. Their goal is to treat the root cause of the issue and help the patient establish a healthier lifestyle. Dr. Elperin attended Hunter College CUNY in New York where she has earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Creative writing. Thereafter, she received her medical degree at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Washington. She fell in love with the mountains of the beautiful region, so her and her family decided to stay in the Pacific Northwest for her residency training. Dr. Elperin is dually board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Physicians, as well as the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Dr. Elperin’s research experience includes studying Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Head and Neck (SCCHN) at the histopathology laboratory, which is a part of the New York University School of Dentistry. Her clinical research was performed at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn – Department of Emergency Medicine. She was simultaneously involved in two clinical research studies, one which involved analyzing the validity of blood gas analyzer. The second study involved using whole blood for identification of pregnancy with a Point – of – Care testing in the setting of Emergency Department. Aesthetic medicine is an inclusive term for specialties that focus on improving cosmetic appearance through the treatment of conditions including scars, skin laxity, wrinkles, moles, liver spots, excess fat, cellulite, unwanted hair, skin discoloration, and spider veins. Family medicine, formerly family practice, is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. As a medical aesthetics & family medicine physician, Dr. Elperin believes in providing individualized health solutions to her patients and treating the root cause of the disease, not just the symptoms. She is passionate about improving patients’ functionality, vitality and their quality of life. Dr. Elperin is currently in the process of becoming a Certified Functional Medicine Physician through the Institute for Functional Medicine. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband and two children. They enjoy skiing, hiking and discovering the wine regions of the Pacific Northwest.
