An experienced hematologist-oncologist specializing in neuro-oncology, Dr. Azad is affiliated with Arizona Center for Cancer Care, working with patients at their offices in Deer Valley and Osborn, Arizona. His specialization spans a spectrum of challenges, from brain and spine tumors to complex malignancies of the head and neck. His focus is not merely on diagnosis and treatment but extends to the frontier of precision medicine and immunotherapy, where he seeks breakthroughs in the battle against primary and secondary brain tumors.

Originally from Iran, Dr. Azadi earned his medical degree from the Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency at the University Medical Center Phoenix, followed by enriching stints at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in hematology, medical oncology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Hematology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to blood. Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A hematologist-oncologist is a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of cancer, malignant blood diseases such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma, and blood disorders such as iron-deficiency anemia, clotting abnormalities, hemophilia, and sickle-cell disease.

Outside of the office, Dr. Azadi enjoys all sports, especially tennis and mountain biking.
