Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in nephrology at the Loyola University Medical Center in 1997 and 1998, respectively. Finally, he completed an additional fellowship in nephrology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in 1999.
