Get to know Anesthesiologist Dr. Mike N. Moore, who serves patients in Georgia.

Dr. Moore is an anesthesiologist who manages patient pain levels before, during, and after surgical procedures. 

Licensed to practice medicine in Georgia, California, and Florida, he is affiliated with East Atlanta Gastroenterology.

A 1981 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Dr. Moore went on to perform his internship at Sacred Heart Hospital Pensacola. He then furthered his training with a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, and a fellowship in obstetrical anesthesia at LAC+USC Medical Center.

With over four decades of experience, the doctor is board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). The ABA sets standards and exams for the accreditation of board-certified anesthesiologists coming to the end of their residency. It is one of the 24 medical specialty boards that constitutes the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.

Reflecting the difference a particular physician has made in the lives of his/her patients, Dr. Moore is the recipient of a Patients’ Choice Award (2018).
