What do you attribute your success to?

  • I have been raised in a home where education was highly valued. I attribute my success to my family for providing me with a lot of support throughout my many years of schooling. I have also been taught that material items have a lesser value than investing in yourself and your education. Wealth in the material form can vanish, but any investing into yourself cannot be taken away.

Philanthropic Initiatives

  • I have gone overseaa with an organization called Bridges to Community in 2009 to build homes for poor families in Nicauragua. I enjoyed helping those who are less fortunate than I am and wish to help in any way I can. I felt fulfilled and energized seeing how grateful those families were and how much of an impact we have made in their lives. It has been difficult to participate in recent years due to schooling and starting my career, but I'd love to join a church or organization like this again in the future.

Teaching and speaking

  • I have participated in Career Day activities once at a middle school in Freeport, Long Island and have recently participated in Career Day at my former elementary school in Flushing, Queens and plan to participate for several more years to come. I throughly enjoy participating in events that deal with kids because I feel that representation matters, especially at a younger age. Not only am I a female doctor, but I am also a minority and relatively young in my field. I think it is important to plant seeds of success into children while they are still young and have them feel motivated to achieve greatness.
