Get to know Pediatric Gastroenterologist Dr. Jacqueline Larson, who serves patients in Hollywood, Florida.

Recognized as a caring and compassionate pediatric gastroenterologist, Dr. Larson stands as a beacon of hope and healing for children grappling with gastrointestinal disorders in Hollywood, Florida. As a pediatric gastroenterologist, she specializes in treating a spectrum of conditions ranging from inflammatory bowel disease to celiac disease, eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders, and obesity. With over four decades of personal experience living with Crohn’s disease and over 15 years managing celiac disease, she brings a unique blend of expertise, empathy, and understanding to her practice.

In regards to her educational background, she earned her MD from St. George’s University and holds degrees in Biology, Philosophy, and Spanish from Regis University. 

As a testament of her continued education, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Holding membership status, Dr. Larson is an active member of prestigious organizations such as NASPGHAN, the American Board of Pediatrics, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. 

Outside her clinical practice, she is deeply involved in charitable endeavors, particularly with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Her philanthropic efforts mirror her commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by gastrointestinal diseases, fostering hope and support within the community.

Pediatric gastroenterology developed as a subspecialty of pediatrics and gastroenterology. It is concerned with treating the gastrointestinal tract, liver, and pancreas of children from infancy until age eighteen. Pediatric gastroenterologists evaluate and offer treatment plans for any kind of chronic stomach issues including abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, failure to gain weight, feeding problems, constipation or dietary issues.

Among her various accolades, Dr. Larson was honored by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Southern Florida Chapter in 2022.
