A native of Eugene, Oregon, Dr. Strickland received his Bachelor of Science degree and graduated with Honors from the University of Oregon in 2006. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry in 2011. He was awarded a United States Navy Health Scholarship where he served as a Lieutenant Dental Corp Officer at Marine Corp Recruit Depot Parris Island South Carolina (MCRD Parris Island).
Immediately following dental school, he completed a one-year credentialing tour in Comprehensive Dentistry at MCRD Parris Island. He was then assigned to perform oral surgery over eighteen months where he received advanced training in oral pathology and wisdom tooth extractions.
A firm believer in continued education, Dr. Strickland is working towards earning his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). He received dental implant training with the London Institute in 2015, and has integrated cone beam computed tomography in placement of dental implants in his office.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
In his off time, Dr. Strickland enjoys surfing, snowboarding, and spending time with his family and friends.
