Now practicing at the Hand and Wrist Center, he works alongside Dr. Richard D. Curtis, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of both surgical and non-surgical conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow.
In addition to his position there, he provides care to hand and upper extremity trauma patients at a local Jacksonville trauma center, and sits on the medical executive committee of an ambulatory surgical center.
After completing his undergraduate education at the University of Florida, Dr. Lorenzo returned to his native Puerto Rico where he attended Universidad Central del Caribe Medical School. He then completed his residency in general surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and his fellowship in hand surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
An experienced surgeon within the hand and wrist field, Dr. Lorenzo is board-certified in general surgery and surgery of the hand by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
Among his professional affiliations, he is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Florida Orthopedic Society, and the Clay County Medical Society.
