Get to know Acupuncturist Dr. Quansheng Lu, who serves patients throughout the State of Maryland.

A determined acupuncturist, Dr. Lu is the Owner of Wholelife Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Center, serving patients in Rockville and Ellicott City, Maryland. Having over 25 years of extensive academic, educational, and practical experience, he is performing professional, effective and safe treatment with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

With a broad educational background, he received his medical degree from the Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China and subsequently worked as a resident and attending physician of TCM at a general hospital in China for 8 years. During this period, thousands and thousands of patients recovered under his miraculous treatment with TCM. Given his outstanding contribution in TCM, he was awarded the Outstanding Doctor Award from the Local Public Health Department.

In order to further explore the prodigious Chinese medicine, Dr. Lu pursued his Master’s degree in TCM at the Beijing University of TCM. and later received a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Cardiology in Chinese and Western Integrated Medicine at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Science. He focused on exploring hypertension molecular mechanisms and looked for new anti-hypertensive natural herbs. In acknowledgment of his excellent achievement in the field, he was invited as a postdoctoral fellow at Georgetown University Medical Center and Children’s National Medical Center.

On a professional level, he holds 3 patents in China and has published 7 professional books on TCM. He also published about 30 peer-reviewed papers in the top journals in the field, and presented his scientific findings in the national and international meetings more than 30 times. His astounding findings have been reported and cited by important world media streams numerous times. Due to his outstanding achievement in the field, he was invited as a guest professor at a famous university of TCM in China and continues to teach and inspire today.

Acupuncture is a form of alternative  medicine and a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a technique in which thin needles are inserted into the body and in some cases, electro-stimulation is applied to gently stimulate particular regions of the body. Acupuncture is also used to maintain general health and well-being. Acupuncturists treat a variety of health concerns including women’s health/fertility, autoimmune disorders, digestive disorders, joint and muscle pain, insomnia, and emotional concerns such as stress management, anxiety & depression.
