Get to know Radiologist Dr. Veronica Valeria Leng De Rosen, who serves patients in Houston, Texas.

A skilful radiologist, Dr. De Rosen’s professional interests include body imaging, chest imaging, and cardiac imaging. In affiliation with Baylor College of Medicine, she holds various positions, including: Associate Professor of Radiology, Section Chief of Radiology & Cardiothoracic Imaging, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, Director of Quality and Safety & Radiology, as well as Director of Education for Cardiothoracic Imaging & Radiology.

Graduating with her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina in 1995, Dr. De Rosen relocated to the United States. Once there, she performed her residency in radiology at Baylor College of Medicine in 2010, and her clinical fellowship in advanced non-invasive cardiovascular imaging at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in 2011.

Passionate about her profession, the doctor is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

In good standing with a number of professional organizations, Dr. De Rosen is a member of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, the Texas Radiological Society, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Roentgen Ray Society.

Radiology is a medical specialty that uses medical imaging to diagnose and treat diseases within the human body. Radiologists are medical doctors who specialize in diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases using medical imaging procedures, such as exams and tests, X-rays, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, mammography, positron emission tomography, and ultrasound.

Involved in various projects, Dr. De Rosen is a Co-Investigator on the International Study of Comparative Health Effectiveness with Medical and Invasive Approaches (ISCHEMIA) Trial (2013-present); a Co-Investigator of the Testosterone Trial: CT Angiographic Evaluation of Coronary Atherosclerosis (2013-present); and a Co-Investigator of the Screening of School Children for High-Risk Cardiac Conditions, by a New Protocol Based on Cardiac MRI (the SSCC Pilot Study) at the Texas Heart Institute (2012-present).

Among her diverse awards and honors include: Award Winning Poster, revamping CT aortography with multi-disciplinary approach: decreased effective dose and increased patient care, BCM Quality and Safety Conference, 2014; Health Care Heroes Award, Houston Business Journal, 2018; Early Career Faculty Award for Excellence in Patient Care, Baylor College of Medicine, 2017; Healthcare Innovations Award for “Realizing Improvement through Team Empowerment (RITE) Project”, Harris Health Systems, 2017; Certificate of Leadership Proficiency, American College of Radiology, 2015; Certificate of Merit, Thoracic Multidisciplinary Tumor Board: Essential Knowledge for Every Radiologist, education exhibit presented at RSNA 2014, the Radiological Society of North America, 2014.
