Throughout his academic career, Dr. Urey graduated with his medical degree from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. He completed fellowships in both advanced heart failure and heart transplantation at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he was also a resident in internal medicine.
An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
