Purpose: (1) Obtain adipose tissue during Human Bariatric Surgery and pre-operative labs (CBC, CMP &to study metabolic diseases and heart diseases (2) evaluate gene expression, fat cell size (3) identify the genes involved in inflammation of fat tissue and insulin resistance. 2013-2015. 

Manuscript- Adipose Tissue Insulin Resistance in Gestational Diabetes, accepted for publication in Metabolic Syndrome and Related Disorders
