Get to know Endocrinologist Dr. Norma C. Quijada, who serves patients in Orchard Park, New York.

An established endocrinologist with over 20 years of experience in the field, Dr. Quijada merged her private practice with WNY Medical, PC in March 2016.

WNY Medical, PC is a primary care practice with offices conveniently located throughout Western New York. They pledge themselves to the health, wellness, and healing of their patients and clients to the best of their collective abilities. They accomplish this by personifying, practicing, and promoting the core values of Competence, Compassion and Collaboration.

A native of the Philippines, Dr. Quijada earned her medical degree from the Mathias Aznar Memorial College of Medicine in 1986. After relocating to the United States, she went on to further her training by completing a residency in internal medicine at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine in 1994, followed by a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism at the Marshall University School of Medicine in 1996.

Passionate about her profession, the doctor is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes & metabolism, as well as internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

Endocrinology is a branch of biology and medicine dealing with the endocrine system, its diseases, and its specific secretions known as hormones. Endocrinologists have the training to diagnose and treat hormone imbalances and problems by helping to restore the normal balance of hormones in the body. The common diseases and disorders of the endocrine system that endocrinologists deal with include diabetes mellitus, as well as adrenal, pituitary, and thyroid disorders, among others.
