A knowledgeable gynecologic oncologist, Dr. Nahas is affiliated with the UCR Health Inland Empire Women’s Health Center in Riverside, California. At UCR Health, she works skillfully in a state-of-the-art, safe, and comfortable environment – providing excellent, innovative gynecologic oncology and MIS services for all Inland Southern California women.

Originally from Saudi Arabia, she earned her medical degree from King Faisal University. After completing her medical education, she relocated to Canada, where she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of British Columbia, followed by a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Manitoba. Later, she completed an additional fellowship in advanced laparoscopic robotic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. At the same time she earned a Master of Public Health degree (MPH) from Johns Hopkins University.

Passionate about her profession, the doctor is board-certified in gynecologic oncology and obstetrics & gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Nahas is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC), and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). She is also an active member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.

As for her academic appointments, she is an Associate Clinical Professor of Gynecology and Oncology at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine. Furthermore, she is a member of the teaching faculty at the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy, the Laparoscopic Institute of Gynecologic Oncology in San Francisco, the Minimally Invasive Course at USF, the Minimally Invasive Course at UBC, and many international minimally invasive and endometriosis teaching courses. In the past, she worked as a member of the teaching faculty at Trillium Health Partners Hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto.

In addition to her interests in improving surgical outcome and patient’s care in gynecologic oncology and deeply infiltrating endometriosis that failed previous surgeries, Dr. Nahas has special interest in nerve sparing and innovative surgical techniques and teaching minimally invasive surgery to improve patients outcome. She made several presentations on a variety of laparoscopic surgical videos and techniques, and taught in several national and international laparoscopic conferences and workshops.

Gynecologic oncology is a specialized field of medicine that focuses on cancers of the female reproductive system, including ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer, cervical cancer, and vulvar cancer. A gynecologic oncologist is a physician who specializes in diagnosing and treating cancers that are located on a woman’s reproductive organs.

In her spare time, Dr. Nahas loves to bike and participate in all outdoor activities. Tennis in particular is her new passion. When she is at home, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and dancing. These activities make her happy, keep her balanced, and help her stay positive. She is fluent in English, Arabic and Persian.
