Get to know Cardiologist Dr. Denzil G. D’Souza, who serves patients throughout the State of Texas.

A board-certified and fellowship-trained cardiologist, Dr. D’Souza is affiliated with Fort Worth Heart, working with patients at their offices in Downtown Fort Worth and Granbury, Texas.

With a broad educational background, he obtained his medical degree and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Krannert Institute of Cardiology, and his fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Maintaining fellowship status, Dr. D’Souza is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), and a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI).

Professionally, he is an active member of the Herb Fred Medical Society, the Tarrant County Medical Society, and the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
