Get to know Internist, Cardiologist, and Phlebologist Dr. Rajeev Batra, who serves patients in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Dr. Batra is a triple board certified internist, cardiologist, and phlebologist who has been in practice since 1996. He is the Owner of Comprehensive Medical Care, LLC, a primary care and specialty care group practice located in Silver Spring, Maryland.

With emphasis on early detection and prevention of diseases, Comprehensive Medical Care, LLC provides state-of-the-art medical care and access to high-tech diagnostic and surgical procedures. Locally, Dr. Batra holds privileges at Holy Cross Hospital, Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center, and MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. 

His particular focus lies in the early identification and treatment of individuals with heart disease and cerebral vascular disease, which involves the accumulation of cholesterol in the brain’s arteries, potentially leading to strokes. With numerous years of experience and specialized knowledge, he excels in managing the underlying factors contributing to heart and brain diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, and elevated cholesterol levels.

Educated in India, Dr. Batra graduated with his Medical Degree from University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), University of Delhi in 1991. He then went on to perform his internship at the University of Delhi Hospitals in 1992.

After relocating to the United States, he performed his internship at Prince George’s Hospital Center in Maryland in 1994, followed by his residency at Pennsylvania Hospital.

Dedicated to improving the health and longevity of his patients, Dr. Batra holds the distinction of being a Testamur of the American Society of Echocardiography. Additionally, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, and the American Board of Nuclear Cardiology. 

Bringing to his practice extensive ultrasound expertise, Dr. Batra has maintained his status as a Registered Physician for Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) since 2008.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Phlebology is a medical speciality that is concerned with venous issues including the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the veins. Phlebologists are specialists in the examination, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of venous diseases.
