Get to know Ophthalmologist Dr. Tatiana Lee-Chee, who serves patients in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Recognized by her peers in “Top Doctors” in South Florida, as well as awarded “Most Compassionate Physician”, Dr. Lee-Chee is one of the first female ophthalmologists in South Florida to perform laser cataract surgery.  She is the Founder of Advanced Eye Care of South Florida in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

Dedicated to innovative, personalized patient care with surgical excellence and the highest measure of integrity, Dr. Lee-Chee offers advice for the following: cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, keratoconus, corneal dystrophies, corneal ulcers, dry eyes, ectasia, herpes keratitis, uveitis, macular degeneration, ptosis, ocular migraines, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, floaters, retinal detachments, thyroid eye disease, scleritis, LASIK, corneal transplantation (full thickness & lamellar), cataract surgery and advanced technology intraocular implantation, and contact lenses.

Performing surgeries at multiple institutions in South Florida, she is affiliated with Broward Health North, Broward Health Imperial Point, and Outpatient Surgery Center of Boca. She has also been the Chief Operating Officer at Dr. Rounds, LLC since January of 2008.

Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Lee-Chee graduated from Florida International University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biology. She continued her education at Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 1996.

Thereafter, she went on to perform her residency in ophthalmology and two additional fellowships at Tulane University Medical Center, School of Medicine in 2001 and 2003, respectively. Her anterior segment research fellowship allowed her to be involved in FDA trials for all the commonly known ophthalmic drugs used for glaucoma and retinal disease. 

During her corneal and refractive fellowship, Dr. Lee-Chee performed hundreds of cornea transplants. She trained in refractive surgery (laser vision correction) by some of the most renowned physicians in the world.

With over three decades of experience, she is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Osteopathic Boards of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AOBOO). The AOBOO is a joint organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (DOs) who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the eye (ophthalmologists) and to qualified DOs who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the ears, nose, and throat (otolaryngologists).

Among her professional affiliations, Dr. Lee-Chee is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as a member of both the International Society of Refractive Surgery and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. She served on the Executive Board of Eye Physicians of Florida for over 5 years.
