In regards to her educational background, she earned her medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 2002. She then went on to complete her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in pulmonary disease at the same educational venue in 2005 and 2007, respectively.

As a testament to her success, the doctor is board-certified in pulmonary disease and internal medicine by the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons.
