Dr. Leana Oppenheim is a board certified neurologist. She is a St. Petersburg native and completed her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She earned her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. Dr. Oppen-heim continued her medical education by completing an internal medicine internship and neurology residency at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was elected chief resident and house staff president. While in Philadelphia, Dr. Oppenheim trained in a high-volume comprehensive stroke center. She also trained with world-renowned experts in multiple sclerosis, ALS, and dementia. After completing her training she became an attending physician with a special clinical interest in strokes, cognitive disorders and headaches. Dr. Oppenheim treats patients with various conditions of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and muscles. She stays updated with the evolving improvements in neurology and incorporates the most up-to-date treatment plans for her patients. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
