A Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a board-certified periodontist and dental implant surgeon, as well as an IV sedation provider, Dr. Reyes-Viruet has many talents. She is highly-skilled in effectively handling complex implant situations and has earned a reputation of being one of the experts on such cases in the Fort Myers area.

Dr. Reyes-Viruet is currently serving patients at her shared practice - Deragon & Viruet Periodontics - located in Fort Myers, Florida. There, Dr. Reyes-Viruet and Dr. Deragon, as well as their staff, are dedicated to excellence in patient care for the prevention and treatment of periodontal disease. They provide state-of-the-art treatments that can save or restore teeth for a lifetime.

Dr. Reyes-Viruet attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she completed her Master of Science degree, as well as a three-year residency in periodontology. She then went on to complete a general practice and hospital residency at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine where she had the opportunity to treat severely medically compromised patients, as well as oral cancer patients. Dr. Reyes-Viruet graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Puerto Rico where she distinguished herself first in her class.

Dr. Reyes-Viruet trained at the Pinhole Academy where she became certified in the Pinhole Surgical Technique (PST). The PST is a minimally invasive gum recession treatment. Unlike traditional grafting techniques, the treatment is incision and suture free.

Furthermore, Dr. Reyes-Viruet is a certified laser periodontal surgeon. Laser Periodontal Therapy (also known as LPT) is a FDA-approved non-surgical approach to treating gum disease. The therapy is an effective, less invasive alternative to gum surgery. It is also used in bone regeneration treatments.

Periodontology or periodontics is the specialty of dentistry that studies supporting structures of teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them. As a periodontist, Dr. Reyes-Viruet specializes in dental implant placement, advanced bone grafting, and reconstruction. She is dedicated to both her practice and the dental community.

Dr. Reyes-Viruet lives in Fort Myers with her husband, Francisco, and their fur baby, a gorgeous Samoyed named Nahla.
