Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Bryce Cragg, who serves patients in Lubbock, Texas.

Dr. Cragg is a specialist in psychiatric consultation in general medical settings, having received additional training in transplant psychiatry, psycho-oncology, perinatal psychiatry, and HIV psychiatry. He now practices and teaches as an Assistant Professor within the Department of Psychiatry at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. 

Experienced in psychiatry, developmental biology, neuroscience, Dr. Cragg has an interest in psychotherapy. In Texas, he is affiliated with the following hospitals and medical centers: Covenant Children’s Hospital, Covenant Medical Center, and University Medical Center.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Cragg earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Reed College in 2008. He then went on to graduate with his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in 2015.

Earning his Master of Science degree in Neuroscience from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in 2016, he went on to further his training. He completed his residency in psychiatry and his fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in 2020 and 2021, respectively. 

With years of experience, the doctor is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.  

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

Throughout his line of work, Dr. Cragg has published in the area of neuropeptide signaling.
