About

Joe Guthrie PT, PhD, Dip. Osteopractic, is a physical therapist practicing in WHEATLAND, WY. He has been practicing physical therapy for twenty-eight years. When asked to describe his approach to healthcare, it is “service with a purpose.” Dr. Guthrie began his service to others with enlisting after high school into the United States Marine Corps Reserve. After enrolling in Forestry and Wildlife Management in 1972, he transitioned to law enforcement in 1974 as a State Wildlife Agent, before serving as a Louisiana State Trooper. He had a meritorious law enforcement career resulting in a number of high-profile arrests, while serving the citizens of Louisiana as a police officer for almost twenty years before returning to school and graduating with a degree in physical therapy. Since 1994, he has continued to be recognized for service to others, while gaining knowledge that is functional in order to better provide for his patients. Dr. Guthrie was awarded a Masters in Health Science, and PhD from California University. Over the years he has traveled to South America volunteering as a medical missionary in Ecuador, after having been knighted into the Order of the Knights Hospitaller and the Papal Order of St. Sylvester by Pope Benedict XVI. He is also the published author of Your Reasonable Service, How Scripture Relates to Health and Nutrition, Zulon Press, (2015), and The Centurions Ministry, Biblical Guide for Law Enforcement Officers, Zulon Press(2018). Dr. Guthrie is the father of J. Casey Guthrie, MD, residing with his family in Virginia, and J. Cory Guthrie, deceased. He looks forward to a continued future of serving others with a purpose as a physical therapist in Wheatland Wyoming.
