Dr. Escallon is a board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. He joined Familyhealth Associates in 2016, practicing out of the offices in New York City and White Plains.
Seeing clients of all ages, Dr. Escallon does psychiatric evaluations, consultations, psychopharmacologic (medication) management, and psychotherapy. His areas of expertise include ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, and anxiety.
From 1992 to 1998, Dr. Escallon attended medical school at The Xaverian School Of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia. He then relocated to the United States, completing his residency in psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York from 2003 to 2007 and then a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center from 2007 to 2009. Dr. Escallon also completed a two year fellowship in psychodynamic psychotherapy at New York University.
Seeking to improve each patient’s quality of life, the doctor attained board certification in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
Prior to joining Familyhealth Associates, Dr. Escallon served as the Director of Child and Adolescent Outpatient Services at Mt Sinai St Luke’s Hospital where he was also an Assistant Professor for the Department of Psychiatry.
