A dual board-certified rheumatologist, Dr. Vargas joined the Orange County community in 2018. She is the Co-Founder of Integrated Rheumatology Care in Goshen, New York, working alongside Dr. Bella Fradlis.

Passionate about caring for patients with rheumatic conditions, she understands the importance of building a true patient-doctor relationship and thrives to provide high quality care for her patients. She also dedicates her time towards maintaining the integrity of physicians and independent practice.

At their Direct Rheumatology Care practice, Drs. Vargas and Fradlis offer high quality specialty care to the Hudson Valley and surrounding communities. They offer consultative services as well as ongoing care to patients with various autoimmune and rheumatologic conditions.

Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Vargas graduated with her medical degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Faculty of Medicine in Bogotá, Colombia in 2004. She then relocated to the United States, performing her residency in internal medicine at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia in 2010 and her fellowship in rheumatology at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center.

Board-certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Continuously advancing her efforts, Dr. Vargas is an active member of the American College of Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians, New York Chapter.

Rheumatology is a branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatic diseases. Physicians who have undergone formal training in rheumatology are called rheumatologists. Rheumatologists treat arthritis, autoimmune diseases and osteoporosis.

During her personal time, Dr. Vargas enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, traveling, and learning from other cultures. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
