I am always treating others how I would want to be treated. I put GOD first in all that I do. I attribute my excellant work ethic from watching the examples set before me from my father who recently retired after working at the age of 71.

Recognized as an established expert in her field, Dr. Snell-Hargrove strives to make a difference in the lives of her patients by trying her best to keep up-to-date with the current technologies, making a conscious effort to assure patients that they can speak with her confidentially about their private medical issues, and being willing to consult others to give patients the best possible outcome when she is not able to figure out the answer.
Before fulfilling her childhood dream of delivering babies and opening her practice in 2004, Dr. Snell-Hargrove joined the Texas Air National Guard while still in high school. Between high school graduation and college, she graduated from Environmental Health School of Aerospace Medicine and became an environmental health technician.
She then went on to serve in Desert Storm/Desert Shield. After her deployment, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Prairie View A&M University, followed by her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan in 1999. She completed both her internship and residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan. While there, she became the first African American to graduate from their Obstetrics and Gynecology Program.
To remain at the forefront of her challenging specialty, she served as a member of the Student National Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the Genesee County Osteopathic Society, as well as Vice President of the Association of Black Osteopathic Medical Students. She completed her final year at Genesys serving as a chief resident.
Following her training, Dr. Snell-Hargrove became board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a non-profit organization that provides board certification for practicing obstetricians and gynecologists in the United States and Canada.
After 20 years as an accomplished leader, she retired from the military as a Major, receiving both the Air Force Commendation and Meritorious Service medals. During her service, she was a vital member of the executive management committee team and medical evaluation board. Her certifications included Combat Medical Readiness, Combat Casualty Care, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Neonatal Resuscitation.
Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics, covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, and gynecology, covering the health of the female reproductive system, the vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts.
