Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Jason L. Rotstein, who serves patients throughout the State of Illinois.

Dr. Rotstein is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, knee and shoulder conditions. Joining Barrington Orthopedic Specialists in 2010, he operates out of the offices in Schaumburg, Elk Grove Village, and Buffalo Grove, Illinois. 

There, he performs advanced arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder, including revision ligament reconstruction and rotator cuff repair, and knee replacement. Dr. Rotstein focuses on restoring his patients to their optimal functional ability as quickly as possible.

His clinical areas of expertise include knee conditions and treatments, shoulder conditions and treatments, sports medicine injuries, arthroscopy knee and shoulder surgery, arthroscopy ACL reconstruction, arthroscopy knee meniscus surgery, arthroscopy rotator cuff repair, arthroscopy shoulder labral repair, partial knee replacement – MAKO robotic-arm assisted, total knee replacement – MAKO robotic-arm assisted, injection-based treatments, and work-related injuries.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Rotstein graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Furthering his training, he performed both his internship in general surgery and his residency in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He followed up with a fellowship in sports medicine at Baylor College of Medicine.

Dedicated to surgical excellence, Dr. Rotstein is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

His hospital affiliations include AMITA Health – St. Alexius Medical Center – Hoffman Estates and Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights. His surgery center affiliations include Schaumburg Surgery Center and Hoffman Estates Surgery Center, and Dr. Rostein has been the Team Physician for Buffalo Grove High School since 2013.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

When he is not seeing patients, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, cooking, as well as watching and attending sporting events.
