Dr. DeSouza is a double board certified in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology. She completed a residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship in Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She then remained on faculty as an Associate Professor and trained the next generation of pain physicians for 6 years. She is well versed with all pain management outpatient procedures including epidurals, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablations/rhizotomy, spinal cord stimulators, peripheral nerve stimulators, platelet rich plasma, etc... She is originally from Brazil, was raised in South Florida and fluently speaks Portuguese, Spanish and English.
