Rosabella Shek, MD, obtained her medical degree in 1985 from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. She then continued to complete her residency for internal medicine at St. Luke's Hospital of Columbia University in New York, and fellowship for gastroenterology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York. From 1990 to 2000, she was the Associate Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital; in 2003, Blake Medical Center recognized her as 'Doctor of the Year' and in 2009, the Consumers Research Council of America recognized her as 'America's Top Gastroenterologists.' Shek is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Gastroenterology. Her family, she says, is instrumental to her success. Today, she practices gastroenterology in Bradenton, Florida.
