A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Christopher Peter Poje, MD, FACS, FAAP is a board-certified otolaryngologist currently serving his patients at Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat Associates located in New York. His clinical areas of expertise incorporate ear and sinus disease, endoscopic sinus surgery, and cochlear implants. Dr. Poje receives great gratification from the positive outcomes of the clinical side of his work, but he also enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of otolaryngologists as an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology and Pediatrics within the University of Buffalo School of Medicine, which he joined in 1995. Four years later, he was honored as the ENT Professor of the Year by the University for his merits as a teacher and educator. A former captain in the United States Army Medical Corps, he served as Chief of Emergency Services at the Stuttgart Army Hospital in Germany following his internship. Prior to attending medical school, he went to Yale University where he studied biology. He is active on several committees of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and has presented at many academic meetings. With 17 years of expertise, Dr. Poje is acknowledged among the best pediatric otolaryngologists in New York. To begin his career, he earned his medical degree in 1985 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. His postgraduate training consists of his internship at the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center and his ENT residency at the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Dr. Poje advanced his medical training with his specialty fellowship focused on pediatric ENT which he completed at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During his collegiate career, he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Furthermore, he is certified in head and neck surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology. In order to stay up to date in his field, he maintains a professional membership with the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Society for Pediatric Otolaryngology, and the Society for Ear, Nose, and Throat Advances in Children. On a more personal note, he attributes his success to his extensive training but also to his ability to collaborate with other physicians in order to determine the best medical solution for his patients. In his time away from his busy schedule, he enjoys travelling.
