Dr. Cohen graduated from the Andizhan State Medical Institute of Uzbekistan as one of the top 10 students in 1988. After completing his neurology residency, he worked as an attending physician and assistant professor for the neurology department until deciding to move to the U.S. During his professional career in Uzbekistan, he took several courses in invasive and noninvasive pain management. From 1999 to 2003, he underwent his neurology residency training at NSUH at Manhasset and served his last year as chief resident. He was then accepted into the fellowship program at the same hospital for "Clinical Neurophysiology and EMG," from which he graduated in 2004. Since then, he is practicing general neurology with special interest in neurophysiology and pain management. Dr. Cohen performs and interprets EMG/NCS (electromyography/nerve conduction studies), EEG (electroencephalography), and SSEP/BAER/VEP/VNG. Dr. Cohen is a neurologist with extensive experience treating headaches, facial pains, dizziness and vertigo, neck/back pains, and other conditions including neuropathy, stroke, dementia, memory problems, multiple sclerosis, and movement and neuromuscular disorders. He is also an expert in the therapeutic use of BOTOX injections for various medical conditions. Dr. Cohen is meticulous in his treatment of different painful conditions and successfully employs the use of a variety of injections in his practice. With over 25 years of service in the field of neurology, Dr. Cohen’s diligence and compassion continues to earn him the trust of thousands of patients in the tri-state area.
