Get to know Family Nurse Practitioner, Skye Guerra, who serves patients throughout the State of New York.

Skye is a devoted family nurse practitioner currently affiliated with Sun River Health, seeing patients at their offices in Poughkeepsie and Monticello, New York. She brings a compassionate and patient-centered approach to her work, and values building strong connections with her patients, understanding that effective healthcare goes beyond just treating symptoms. She also believes in empowering individuals and families to actively participate in their healthcare journey, fostering a collaborative relationship that enhances overall well-being.

As a graduate of Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York, she laid the foundation for her career in nursing. However, it was her pursuit of excellence that led her to the Dominican College of Blauvelt in Orangeburg, where she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, solidifying her expertise in the field.

Licensed as a family nurse practitioner in the State of New York, she has received certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, which is a certification body for nursing board certification and the largest certification body for advanced practice registered nurses in the United States.

A Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) holds board certification and provides continuing and comprehensive healthcare for the individual and family across all ages, genders, diseases, and body systems. FNPs maintain patient records, perform physical exams, order or perform diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, develop treatment plans, as well as treat acute and chronic illnesses, conditions, and injuries that fall under primary care.
