Get to know Neurologist Dr. Deidre Janelle Ammah, who serves patients in Baltimore, Maryland.

A highly trained neurologist, Dr. Ammah is affiliated with the Mid-Atlantic Epilepsy & Sleep Center in Bethesda, Maryland. She can also be found on staff at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center, Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center and Suburban Hospital.

Pertaining to her educational pursuits, Dr. Ammah received her medical degree from the Howard University College of Medicine. She then went on to complete her internship at the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.  She then completed her residency in neurology and fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center.  

Passionate about her profession, the doctor is board-certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. It deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all categories of conditions and disease involving the central and peripheral nervous systems, including their coverings, blood vessels, and all effector tissue, such as muscle. Neurologists are specialists who treat diseases of the brain and spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles. Neurological conditions include epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis (MS), and Parkinson’s disease.
